OFEXPO+ORGEXPO-2005
3 rd International specialized exhibition of office furniture.

For 5 days the halls of Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre will serve as a platform for demonstrating design fantasies in fashion. The exhibition will bring together designers and engineers, artists, sculptors and architects involved in furniture sketching and complete interior developing – apartment, country house, kitchen and office interior. This is the main subject of ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005, KITEXPO-2005 and OFEXPO+ORGEXPO-2005. Three projects date back to the sections of the largest Russian spring furniture exhibition EUROEXPOFURNITURE, one of the best projects of the Russian furniture market.

Today ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX is not merely a show of single furniture samples, but a real holiday of art, which enables setting a brand new approach to interior as an indispensable part of our everyday life.

ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005 will show various furniture collections made in retro, classic, high-tech and avant-garde styles; exclusive and author furniture; original design of interior elements; technologies of textile application in interior; light fittings for apartment, cottage and office decoration; doors; staircases; decorative stone; phytodesign and floristics; original accessories and decorative textile; architectural projects and landscape design. A whole section is dedicated to Art deco salon, which will demonstrate the most original design and project ideas. Art-salon, which will show exclusive works of artists, sculptors and architects is also a part of the exhibition.

ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005 participants are galleries, workshops and famous Russian furniture manufacturers, who annually display their experimental collections for the audience: 8 Marta, МООН, Kalinka, Diskom Furniture Holding, Evanti and Vald Trading Companies.

Booming growth of ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX sets alterations to the exhibition calendars. With the coming year the exhibition will be named ARFEX and will have the status of exhibition for interior art, innovation and design. The exhibition subjects will be extended as well. Interior design, decoration accessories and complex landscape design will be included as well.

It hasn’t take KITEXPO long to draw the attention of the leading manufacturers of kitchen furniture. Though KITEXPO-2005 is a strictly-specialized event, its exposition is varied and large. It comprises interior and design ideas for all types of kitchens: standard and compact flats, country houses and elite apartments. The exposition also offers furniture for dining rooms, bars, restaurants and cafes; component parts for kitchen furniture; modern built-in household appliances, interior and kitchen accessories; furniture care products. The largest participants of KITEXPO-2005 are such famous national kitchen furniture manufacturers as Verona, Maria, Rif and Legna-Trade.

For the first time OFEXPO was held as an independent event in 2003. In a very short period it has occupied its niche of a specialized forum of modern office furniture manufacturers. The exhibition displays a full range of office furniture and sets an idea of office space. Office is a complex where one should have the maximum comfort for effective work. Following exhibitors and guests’ requirements, last year the exhibition organizers added ORGEXPO section to OFEXPO. It is a section, which will demonstrate various office appliances, new design findings in lighting systems, metal safe deposits, shelving, and office supplies. Additionally OFEXPO+ORGEXPO-2005 will show furniture for offices, administrative premises, hotels, theatre halls, congress centers, banks, airports and public premises; safety equipment and security systems for offices, design ideas for office premises planning. The largest participants of the section are well-known Russian manufacturers: Ramensky Furniture Factory, Expro, Elba, Edem, Perpetum Mebeli R. Felix Company is the sponsor of OFEXPO+ORGEXPO-2005.

With the next year KITEXPO and OFEXPO+ORGEXPO will move to Ekaterinburg within the framework of a new regional project of MVK Holding Company – EUROEXPOFURNITURE – URAL.

Contest program

ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005, KITEXPO-2005 and OFEXPO+ORGEXPO-2005 offer interesting exposition, scientific and contest program.

One of the brightest events will be an International contest for young talented designers “Innovative Thinking: from Idea to Realization”, organized by MVK with the support of Moscow Union of Designers. Contest objectives: find talented designers concerned with furniture and interior creation; provide a platform for new idea demonstrating. The judges are the leading Russian designers and representatives of the largest companies involved in furniture manufacture. The jury will judge the works according to the following criteria: innovative thinking, application, artistic value. The first stage of the contest took place at EUROEXPOFURNITURE-2005 this May. The exhibition ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005 will draw the results of the second stage of the contest. Young talented designers, winners of the second stage, will be honored a right to participate in the 3^rd stage of the contest, which will take place within the framework of EUROEXPOFURNITURE-2006 (held on May 16 – 20, 2006 in Crocus Expo). The best contest projects will be introduced into manufacture by the leading Russian furniture companies. The prizewinners of the contest who are not members of Moscow Union of Designers will have a right to enter the union without compulsory creative contest.

The program also offers an annual contest ARTFURNITURE-2005, organized by Moscow Union of Designers. The contest platform will display original design and architectural findings in the field of exclusive furniture, complex furniture projects and decoration elements. The best works will be honored with valuable prizes and diplomas of Moscow Union of Designers.

For the first time KITEXPO-2005 will include a Culinary show (September 30 and October 1). Organizers – Moscow Culinary Association and MVK Holding Company. Sponsor – VERONA cucine. Built-in appliances are provided by CANDY. During six 2-hour master classes chief cooks of the leading Moscow restaurants will display possibilities of exhibited household appliances in cooking various dishes. Any participant or guest is welcome to appreciate the possibilities of appliances and skills of people, who the French call “lords of flavor”.

Consulting Design Center is another novelty of the exhibition. During five exhibition days all visitors are welcome to have a free consultation in exclusive furniture, art glass processing, curtain painting, application of floral stained glass and phytopainting in interior, optical and lighting effects in interior and all other questions.

For the second time Festival & contest “Article and image in body-art” will be a real decoration of the exhibition. This year it will be held on October 1. In the morning the artists of Bodypainting.ru workshop will start with painting models on the subjects of furniture expositions. Later on there will be held a photo session of body-art models. At the main stage there will be held a show and then there will be announced the names of the winners. They will be honored with diplomas and valuable prizes from MVK Holding Company.

Presentation of the annual National award “Russian Cabriole” will be held on September 28 within the framework of the exhibition. The prize settlers – Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia and MVK Holding Company with the official support of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation. The contest was launched at the International exhibition EUROEXPOFURNITURE-2005 this May. Elimination trials will be held during the largest specialized furniture exhibitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities from Kaliningrad to Novosibirsk. The elimination trials will be traditional shows of the best samples of furniture products “Russian Furniture”, being held during the year at all-Russia and regional related exhibitions. The winners in the category “Best design finding” will become contenders for the Award of the Year. The main contest objective is to improve competitive ability of the national furniture products, its aesthetic properties, ecological safety and consumer quality. The contest is held among Russian furniture companies. The categories are as follows: “Household furniture”, “Office furniture”, “Special-purpose furniture”. The contest results drawing and official awarding ceremony of the National award “Russian Cabriole” will be held at the exhibition EUROEXPOFURNITURE-2006 (May 16 – 20, 2006, Crocus Expo).

Another event on the contest list of ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005 is the Contest for designing and manufacturing new furniture articles and interior elements with application of advanced finishing materials by Alpi (Italy). Organizers – Alpi S.p.A. Industrial Group (Italy), Balimex&Consult (Czechia), MVK Holding Company.

A real decoration of the exhibition will be fashion defile of clothes designed by Izabella Rim, member of the General Committee of the Union of Designers International Association. The name of the collection is in tune with the season – “Autumn motives”. The show will be held on October 1.

MVK Holding Company jointly with FM (“Furniture Factory) magazine editors and Derevo.RU organize a Show & Contest “DDM” (Wood-Design-Furniture).

Professional jury will work during all the exhibition days. The results will be announced on October 2. Winners will be honored with prizes and diplomas.

ARTFURNITURE / ARFEX-2005, KITEXPO-2005 and OFEXPO+ORGEXPO-2005 include a number of interesting topical seminars for furniture experts, furniture collection shows and master classes held by the leading furniture companies.

One of the key events of the scientific & business program will be the conference Actual state and development outlook of the national furniture market. Effective methods of sales management”. Organizers – MVK Holding Company and Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia.

The business program also offers an open seminar for designers, manufacturers and distributors of upholstered furniture “Analysis of consumer preference at the market of upholstered furniture”, organized by Soyuzmebel Non-commercial organization, MVK Holding Company and NVM Business Consulting.

Yu.V. Nazarov, professor, Moscow State Art & Industry University named after Stroganov will hold the presentation of “Design program of household equipment”, which will demonstrate conceptual project program of kitchen design.
